  A blast to drive, even more fun to drive than the 87 MR2 that I drove for ten years straight. A fellow latest generation MR2 owner said "You dont get in this car, you put it on". That is just the beginning of having a incredible time every moment in one of the finer engineered products on the market today. If youre doing your research, ignore those who complain about not enough storage space, HELLO- this is a sports car. There are also those who cry about not enough power, 0-60 in under seven seconds, my 2002 has all of the power I need. Others need to spend more time learning how to use the great handling & the advantages of state-of-the-art engineering.

  Yet another reviewer who says that this car is fun to drive, but it really is. Sticks to the road, hugs the curves, thanks to the mid-engine design, with plenty of pep to zip in and out of hwy traffic. I absolutely love this car, lack of cargo space notwithstanding--just make sure you have some other transportation for the groceries. The roar of the engine is pretty fun to listen to, and the seats are quite comfy as well.

  I have had my MR2 for almost 4 years and have loved every minute of it! There are always looks to see what Im driving. If you love lots of attention, you must drive this car!

  This is natures best kept secret for feeling younger. Everyone at Toyota who had anything to do with this gem should be very proud of what they have done. If you cant drive a standard shift car do not(repeat:do not) keep yourself from driving this one. It may take you thirty minutes to get the basics of shifting while watching someone (or study it on the computer). Then go out and test drive this 5-speed. I promise you will find it the most fun you had in a very long time. Forget about status, (not a Lexus,Bmw,Mercedes...). Just go for a ride with the top down, no radio, and listen and feel what you have missed for a long time. Enjoy and pass it on.

  Well I just bought this car at the beginning of April but I drooled over it for months. I am 62" 220lbs and I can fit comfortably in the car. Another problem is I miss cruise control yeah it is fun to drive but damn hard to keep under 80MPH without cruise. I got the standard 5 speed and of course the SMT comes with cruise. Everywhere else complains about storage space but so what if it takes you 4 trips to the grocery store to get your weekly shopping done you own a good to look at got to have convertible that is as unique as a car 3 times the price so enjoy your trips.

  Fun, great handling, quick, surprisingly roomy interior (I am 62" and 230lbs and it is comfortable), gets lots of attention. Great commuter and weekend car.

  This is a very classy looking sporty roadster. It turns lots of heads and is extremely fun to drive. The 5spd. SMT sequential transmission is most appealing. I purchased the optional hardtop, which further enhances the overall appearance of the car. It is often mistaken for a porsche boxster. The very limited production numbers make the car quite unique. You occassionally will see one here and there. The overall quality and value for the $$$ is most attractive. This car will prove to be a true classic from Toyota.The resale value is extremely high.

  I needed a car that could handle the Utah winters but was fun to drive in the summer. I needed a car that would give me great gas with great reliability. Out of all the roadsters i researched, I found the MR2 Spyder to be the choice for me. The engine located right above the rear tires would allow better traction in the winters. The 1.8 L engine would allow great gas mileage. With the MR2 being build by Toyota, reliability was never a concern. I am a 5 5 very stocky guy and i fit in it just fine! If you want a car that is designed for comfort, buy a luxury car. The MR2 was not built for comfort, it was built to rip up canyon roads while looking extraordinarily sexy!!
